Meetings February 19, 2008 Modeller of the Year Contest- Out of the Box Usually our largest kit display of the year is our Out of the Box night and this night was a good one. Modeller of the Year is judged as close to IPMS standards as our group can get with 6 categories: auto, armor, ships, aircraft, miscelleaneous and theme. Each category has three point values awarded. Each builder can only take a single spot in a category. At the end of the year, the builder with the most points wins Modeller of the Year. Some very nice builds were on display tonight. Every Modeller of the Year night is also a build night and many members were actively building kits while others were talking and judging. We had our monthly Toys-for-Tots silent auctions using kits donated by a community member. Some fairly nice kits were obtained by our members for a fraction of their real price. There was also quite a bit of business conducted on this night. All-in-all a very good night. On to the Pics! Photos of all entries are submitted below.
