Modeller of the Year Contest and build night
Well, since our last update, our modelling world has been very busy. The Nationals are behind us. Unfortunately for our club, so is the vote for where to host the 2009 Nats. Our group put together a proposal, but we were unable to produce a good enough pricing package. Columbus, Ohio will be hosting the 2009 Nats. Thanks to the folks who worked to put together the proposal.
The second area of business was our Modeller of the Year Contest. The builds on display are pictured below.
In the background, playing on the big screen, photos from this years Nationals were being displayed for those who were unable to attend. It appeared that there was a great deal of interest in seeing these photos, so we will have this displayed again this month.
Finally, as usual on a contest night, it was also a build night. Several members brought in their kits to work on.
Just a reminder, we are looking for a new facility to host our meetings. Our current venue is planning on raising the cost to meet there to a level that our club can not afford. If anyone is aware of a reasonably priced (FREE) meeting facility that we might use, please let an e-board member know. Thanks.
